The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) in collaboration with the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department of the Ada West District Assembly on Tuesday, the 31st of March 2026 organized and commenced a two day trainer of trainees workshop for some artisanal salt producers in the Ada enclave pursuant to the Public Health Act, 2012 Act 851.

As part of his planned Community engagement and itinerary to ensure value for money assurance in the execution of projects awarded by the Ada West District Assembly, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Modjifa Tanihu J.J.F. Mills-Nkrumah on Tuesday, 24th March 2026 inspected five projects; commissioned two of the inspected projects, and officially handed over a renovated Health Center to the Ada West District Health Directorate.

A team from Institute of Climate and Environmental Governance (ICEG) led by Mr. Ebenezer K. Aidoo, today, the 17th of February 2026 held a stakeholder engagement with the Ada West Assembly on critical infrastructure needs to select five (5) top ranked critical infrastructure needs of the Ada West District to be implemented by the President, H.E John Dramani Mahama as legacy projects.

The Ada West District Assembly disbursed items to 63 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Sege. The items included deep freezers, wheelchairs, laptops, charcoal, provision, tarpaulin, corn mill motor and cash.
The event aimed to support disabled persons in the district, with beneficiaries categorised into education, health, and business support.

The Ada West District Assembly organized a weeklong clean-up exercise in Sege from Saturday 13th December to Saturday 20th December, as part of national sanitation efforts to keep the environment clean during these festivities.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ms. Linda Akweley Obenewaa Ocloo, paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and elders of the Ada Traditional council on the 8th of December 2025, ahead of the Christmas festivities. She was accompanied by Chief Director Of The Regional Coordinating Council, Ms. Lilian Baeka, the District Chief Executives of the traditional council, Hon. Modjifa Tanihu J.J.F Mills-Nkrumah, (Ada West District) and Hon. Kenneth Kofi Kabu Kanor, (Ada East District).

The Ada West District, joined other districts across the nation to celebrate the 41st National Farmers’ Day on Friday, 5th December 2025, at Toflokpo Presby Primary School. This celebration is in appreciation of the relentless efforts of our farmers in ensuring food security, nationwide.

A clean-up exercise was conducted at Akplabanya on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025, as part of the district’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental sanitation and community responsibility. It is also in line with the National Sanitation Day initiative, instituted by the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
