ADA WEST OBSERVES POST-FLOOD SANITATION DAY

Pursuant to the directive of the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama, that, there should be a post-flood sanitation day exercises to be held on Friday, 10th and Saturday, 11th July 2026 on the theme “Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the Floods” consequent on the 28th and 29th June rains which left many Ghanaians homeless, the Ada West District Assembly together with relevant stakeholders fully observed the day on Friday, 10th July 2026 in the district capital, Sege, and the participation of community members as compared to earlier communal labours was very encouraging to suggest that the people might have appreciated the impact of the floods, even though some few were still lukewarm looking on as others were busy desilting the gutters.

The clean-up exercise which was led by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ada West, Hon. Modjifa Tanihu J.J.F. Mills-Nkrumah, the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. (Apostle) Daniel Keshi Bessey, the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Namale Firimin-Roger Nabiebakye Esq, the Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Lawrence Katey Ngunekpeku, the Assembly Member for the Sege-Koni Electoral Area, Hon. Ernest Kugblenu and other Assembly members, the District Health Environmental Officer, the District NADMO officer, the District Engineer, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Education Service, and also with other Heads of Departments and technocrats of the Ada West District Assembly represented, is expected to continue tomorrow as directed by the President.
