SEGE HOSTS CLEAN-UP EXERCISE AHEAD OF CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES

The Ada West District Assembly organized a weeklong clean-up exercise in Sege from Saturday 13th December to Saturday 20th December, as part of national sanitation efforts to keep the environment clean during these festivities.

The event, which ran from 6:00 am to 10:30 am, saw participation from key officials, including District Chief Executive Hon. Modjifa Tanihu J.J.F. Mills- Nkrumah, the District Coordinating Director, Hon. Assembly members and about 70 other participants.

The exercise involved clearing bushes, desilting gutters, and removing debris with the help of an earth-moving machine. Despite prior announcements, community participation was low, with many residents declining to take part.

The clean-up achieved its objective of improving environmental sanitation in Sege, but there is a need for enhanced community engagement and education to boost participation in future activities.
