Hon. Lawrence KATEY NGUNEKPEKU is the current Presiding Member of the ADA WEST DISTRICT Assembly (ADWA). He is an Educationist, community advocate, and politician with over a decade of experience in public service, and local governance.

Career Path

Hon. Lawrence KATEY NGUNEKPEKU has served as a teacher since 2008, member of the Board Community Water and Sanitation in Ada West, the elected Assembly Member for the Bonikope electoral area sin 2019. Throughout his tenure, he has been instrumental in championing sanitation improvement, community health education, child development, revenue generation strategies and inclusive governance within the district.

Prior to becoming Presiding Member, he held an influential position within the Assembly, including:

* Chairman of the Sege Area Council, Sege.

* A member of the Development Sub-Committee of ADWA.

* Member of social services sub committees AWDA.

* Member Justice and Security, AWDA. 

His leadership has helped deepen citizen participation and engagement across multiple electoral areas.

Education

Hon. Lawrence KATEY NGUNEKPEKU holds a Degree in B A. GEOGRAPHY with Political Science Minor from University of Education, Winneba (UEW). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Basic Education University of Education Winneba (UEW) and A Diploma in Basic Education from Dambai College of Education

Hon. Katey has a long-standing record of political and student leadership, dating back to his university days. Notable positions he has held include:

* The House One prefect in ADA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL .

* SRC Organizer of the 2008 year leadership.
