A representative, from the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Mr. Isaac Kwesi Eweh, paid a working visit to the Ada West District Assembly, to specifically build the capacity of the members of the District Planning and Coordinating Unit (DPCU).
This maiden capacity building for the year, oriented participants on the 2024 Annual Progress Report Preparation guidelines, shared knowledge gathered from other districts with participants and also learnt best practices of the district, on the report preparation.
In his presentation, Mr. Eweh took the participants through the indicators of the 2024 Annual progress reports and how best to satisfy all requirements in other to score higher marks in the subsequent ones. Together, with the participants, short falls in the 2024 Annual Progress Report were identified and rectified appropriately. The presentation strengthened the skills and abilities of the participants towards the mastery of the 2025 Annual Progress Report preparation.
The training brought together all members of the District Planning and Coordinating Unit (DPCU) to learn from their past mistakes and share knowledge on best practices from other Districts across the country.
Disclosing some of the best practices of the District, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Kwadwo Bour Gyamfi, indicated that he personally follows up on all data required for the report from each department. By so doing, the input from every unit and department is released on time and submitted to the planner to complete the report. This has continuously propelled the assembly to complete their report on time.
According to him, the quarterly sub-committee meetings also served as a guide to the successful annual progress report preparation. Similarly, the action plans of the assembly are implemented which is also a contributing factor to the timely preparation of the report.
The participants used the platform to seek clarifications on challenging areas of the report preparation. The programme empowered the participants to be more efficient on the annual progress report preparation.
